Who We Are
At Utah Mechanical Systems, we believe HVAC should be done right the first time—with no high-pressure sales, no gimmicks, and no cutting corners. We’re a family-owned and operated HVAC company based in Ogden, Utah, proudly serving homes and businesses from Lehi to Logan.
Founded by Emily and Zach, our company was built on the idea that customers deserve honesty, quality, and control over their HVAC decisions. We don’t believe in racing to the bottom on price—we believe in craftsmanship, integrity, and customer satisfaction.
We take pride in being a union HVAC company, standing alongside skilled tradespeople who uphold the highest industry standards. Being union-certified means we stay on top of the latest HVAC advancements, follow strict safety protocols, and support fair wages and ethical working conditions. We know that when workers are valued, customers receive better service, and the industry thrives.

Our Story – Built from the Ground Up
Emily and Zach didn’t inherit a business. They didn’t start with money. They built Utah Mechanical Systems from scratch, the same way they’ve built their life together—with hard work, discipline, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

Emily’s Background – Military Precision & Leadership
.Emily grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, in a tough environment surrounded by poverty and addiction. She knew early on that she wanted more out of life, so she joined the U.S. Air Force, serving for 11 years as an F-16 and F-35 avionics technician.
Her military career shaped her approach to business—discipline, precision, and integrity became the foundation of everything she does. But after leaving the Air Force due to pregnancy, she faced workplace discrimination and was removed from the elevator union for the same reason.
That was the turning point. Emily made a decision: never again would someone else control her career or her future. She and Zach built Utah Mechanical Systems with a mission to create a business where customers and employees are treated fairly, honestly, and with respect. Family comes first. Our employees and customers’ families are a driving factor in how we operate

About Zach
Zach is the hands-on, technical mastermind behind Utah Mechanical Systems. Zach had a 5 year apprenticeship in Maryland with 10,000+ hours of OJT and is now an HVAC expert, he can fix just about anything, and he thrives on educating customers about their systems. His patience and deep technical knowledge make him the go-to guy for complex repairs, custom installations, and troubleshooting.
When he’s not working, Zach enjoys shooting, off-roading, and smoking meats on his Traeger. He also has a passion for cars—driving a 2002 E46 BMW, which he maintains with the same precision he applies to HVAC.
Together, Emily and Zach have built a company focused on quality work, fair wages, and complete transparency with customers.
Family Life & Work-Life Balance
Emily and Zach aren’t just business owners—they’re parents to Waylon (born November 13, 2022) and Tucker (born October 23, 2024). Their boys are growing up watching their parents build something meaningful. While they’re not crawling into air ducts just yet, they’re already part of the team.
Waylon proudly holds the title of Chief Executive Officer, while Tucker is Chief Marketing Officer—at least until they’re old enough to negotiate for bigger roles.
At Utah Mechanical Systems, family comes first. Weekends are for spending time with their kids, creating memories, and maintaining a balance between work and life. They built their business not just for financial freedom but for the flexibility to be present—to show their kids what hard work, integrity, and entrepreneurship look like.
Work should support your life—not the other way around.

Community & Customer Appreciation
At Utah Mechanical Systems, we believe in giving and showing appreciation to the people who support us. That’s why we host two Client Appreciation BBQs every year—an opportunity to connect with customers, employees, and their families.
